PROSPECTUS FOR RECRUITMENT OF POSTAL ASSISTANTS AND SORTING ASSISTANTS PROSPECTUS P A R T - A No. AP / GTL /THE DETAILS IN THIS PROSPECTUS AREAPPLICABLE FOR RECRUITMENT FOR THE FOLLOWING POSTS :
a) Postal Assistants in Post Offices.
b) Postal Assistants in Circle Office and Regional Offices. g)
Postal Assistants in Mail Motor Services.
c) Postal Assistants in Savings Bank Control Organization h)
Postal Assistants in Postal Stores Depots.
d) Sorting Assistants in Railway Mail Service.
e) Postal and sorting Assistants in Army Postal Service.
f) Postal Assistants in Foreign Post Offices.
Pay-Scale - The scale of pay is Rs. 5200 - 20200 + Grade pay Rs. 2400/- + admissible allowances.
Age : (a) Between 18 to 25 years as on last date prescribed for receipt of application as shown in the advertisement and in the list containing vacancy position supplied with this prospectus.

Educational and Other Qualifications Required :-
Postal / Sorting Assistants :
i) Pass in 10+2 or 12th Class Examination of recognized University or Board of School Education or Board of Secondary Education (excluding vocational streams).
ii) Candidates for the posts of Postal Assistants in Post Offices, Sorting Assistants in Railway Mail Service and Postal/ Sorting Assistants in Army Postal Service should have the above educational qualifications with English as a compulsory subject.
iii) The candidates should have knowledge of local languages of the State. i.e., should have studied Telugu (and / or any other local language declared as local language by Andhra Pradesh State Government) as a subject at least upto Matriculation level (SSC).
iv) Candidates with higher qualifications are also considered. But they have to fulfil the requirements mentioned in sub paras (i) to (iii) above. v) Candidates who have passed Vocational or job Oriented Course (JOC) are NOT eligible.
vii) For Postal Assistants of Circle Office and Regional Offices Typing skill in Hindi at the speed of 25 words per minute or in English at the speed of 30 words per minute and Computer Knowledge are essential.

Applications are invited for the following posts in the Council office.
1. Secretary 1 Gen.
Scale of Pay - Pay Band - 4 Rs.37400-67000 + Rs.10,000 Grade Pay plus non-practicing allowance as admissible.
Age - Between 40 to 55 years
Educational Qualification - A recognised M.B.B.S. qualification or its equivalent with a recognized postgraduate medical degree Experience A total of 16 years in the profession out of which 10 years teaching experience in a medical college after a postgraduate medical degree with atleast 3 years experience as Professor in any department in a Medical College/Teaching hospital
Or
A total of 16 years in the profession out of which 2 years regular service as Additional Secretary or 3 years regular service as Joint Secretary in the MCI.

2. Additional Secretary 1 Gen.
Scale of Pay - Pay Band - 4 Rs.37400-67000 + Rs.8900 Grade Pay plus non-practicing allowance as admissible.
Age - Between 40 to 50 years
Educational Qualification - A recognised M.B.B.S. qualification or its equivalent with a recognized postgraduate medical degree Experience A total of 14 years standing in the profession out of which 8 years teaching experience in a medical college after postgraduate medical degree qualification.
Or
A total of 14 years standing in Profession out of which 2 years regular service as Joint Secretary in the MCI.

3. Deputy Secretary (Medical) 1 Gen.
Scale of Pay - Pay Band - 3 Rs.15600-39100 plus Grade Pay Rs.7600 and non-practicing & other allowances as admissible.
Age - Between 35 to 45 years.
Educational Qualification - A recognised M.B.B.S. qualification or its equivalent with a recognised Postgraduate Medical degree. Experience - Must have 10 years experience in the profession out of which 3 years teaching experience in medical college after postgraduate medical degree.
Five years relaxation in the upper age limit is permissible for Government servants and SC/ST Category and three years for OBC Category.
