Mary Kom named Brand Ambassadors for CWG

New Delhi: Olympic Gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, World number 2 shuttler Saina Nehiwal and four-time world women boxing champion MC Mary Kom are among the six ace sportspersons who were today named Brand Ambassadors for the Commonwealth Games to be held here from October 3 to 14.

The other three Brand Ambassdors named by the Organising Committee (OC) are athlete of the 2006 Commonwealth Games Samaresh Jung, Olympic bronze medallist boxer Vijender Kumar, Olympic bronze medallist wrestler Sushil Kumar.

Announcing the names of the Brand Ambassdors, OC chairman Suresh Kalmadi said, ''These champions have done India proud with their achievements and will serve as remarkable Brand Ambassadors for the Games.''

''Their passion, personality, and presence as well as their amazing pursuit of excellence truly reflect the vision of the Organising Committee,'' he said. (UNI)
