Ccpur programme showcases orphans’ talents

LAMKA, Aug 14: Devoid of parents but not talents as many as 200 orphans from Children’s Home of Saikot showcased their talents during a picnic programme organised for them at Khuga Multipurpose dam. The impressive programme was organised by the 12 Madras Regiment based at the dam site and was attended as special guest by the Commander 27 sector AR Brig Surendra Mehta.

Being conducted with an aim to give a vent to the teeming talents of the orphan students who were second to none, breathtaking impressive items like Manmasi dance, choreography, group song, solos and in the lighter vein singing and many more were performed.

Students from Classes nursery to X who have excelled in their studies in various tests were also felicitated by the commander.

During his speech the Commander pointed out there were lots of talents from the students while stating his desire that it should be nurtured well.

Most of them were in their formative stages but a time will come when they have to step out of the school and by that time the answer will be hard work and the bedrock for them is knowledge they have gained during their studies, the Brigadier pointed out while advising them to continue in their efforts to acquire more knowledge and education.

He said the modern government has provided lots of facilities and all can avail of them through education and hard work only.

The Children’s Home has been run by Reformed Presbyterian Church, RPC, with manager Rousang and has been funded from Holland since the last many years and is recorded as the performing orphanage run and funded by foreigners.
