NE tourism stakeholders to meet on April 7

Gangtok: The Travel Agents Association of Sikkim (TAAS), the apex body of tour operators in the Himalayan state, along with the State Tourism Department, will organise a North-East turisms takeholders meet here on April 7. The conference is sponsored by North Eastern Council (NEC).

In a press statement, TAAS general secretary Lukendra Rasaily informed that all the eight states of the Northeastern region-Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland and Sikkim would participate in the event.

The participants include government officials from Development of North East Region(DONER) and Tourism stakeholders of the region comprising tour operators, hoteliers and trade associations. National bodies like Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI), Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India(ADTOI), Hotel Association of India (HAI) and tourism specialists from ICIMOD, Nepal are participating as special invitees.

The Sikkim participation will feature tour operators, hoteliers, tourism development committees and others. (UNI)
