DC, SP, ASP visited the Integrated Check Post at Moreh

On this day, at the Myanmarese border town of Moreh in Manipur state of India, the District Administration of Chandel district, headed by the Deputy Commissioner, Mr. H. Deleep Singh, IAS and Mr. Radheshyam Singh, Superintendent of police, Chandel district, Manipur, and ASP/Moreh, marked the bounds of the much-in-the news ICP (Integrated Check Post), Moreh.

The 45.50 acres of acquired private land and State Sarkari Khas land had been made available for the ambitious ICP project undertaken after tough competition from Mizoram state by the Border Management wing of the Ministry Of Home Affairs, Government of India. The decks are cleared for handing over and taking over of the said land.

The DC/Chandel was heaving a sigh of relief on the 20th April at Moreh. Of late, his activities had much to do with trying to solve the seemingly vexed issue of ICP . The ramifications of land-matters relating to the project accounted for the inability to grab sufficient shut-eyes on the part of the well-meaning, heavy-loaded Collector of Chandel, in the recent past. The matter had not been settled fully but the concerned parties had come to a certain level of understanding.

Wooden pegs were erected to mark the eastern and southern boundaries of the hyped-up project close to the international border-line. Pucca fencing will come up across the markings later when the actual ICP work get started. The project is designed to facilitate various State and Union governmental functionaries operating at the border cutting edge to have their respective check-points adjacent to one another. The 31 AR, Moreh, had been authorized by the MHA, GOI, to take over the said land on the Ministry's behalf.

Made to watch all the happenings and transactions of ICP from a safe distance, not that he minds one bit, this blogger, who had always been a habitual back-bencher,and knowing that one can't rise above the role given to one, contentedly commented on the day the markings were fixed, to his immediate boss: " The way the ICP had been dealt with all these months, it would have been more appropriate if it had been renamed 'Integrated Re-Checked Post'.
