The resilient 27-year-old woman boxer has more than three Asian titles and nine times national champion to her credit, according to her official website.
Mary Kom is the recipient of various awards including Arjuna Award, Padma Shri Award, and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. She has also received special award from AIBA.
Mary is the native of Samulamlan of Bishnupur district in Manipur, currently residing in National Games Village in Imphal, the capital of the state. She is a mother to a twin sons and a caring husband, her achievement are a great inspiration for young girls in India and Northeast in particular.
