Chakka bandh in Manipur

MPHAL, Jan 28 – The Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) protesting the State government’s failure to implement its earlier assurances to repair the lifeline of the State, NH-39, has decided to impose a five-day chakka bandh on this highway.

The Senapati District Truck Owners’ Association (SDTOA) has extended support to the bandh, which will commence on January 30 midnight and will be followed by an economic blockade along the NH-39.

The student body said that the decision was taken after a consultative meeting held recently at the Senapati district headquarters,60 km north of the State capital.
