expressing her wish to create awareness on rights of orphans, disabled people and HIV/AIDS patients if crowned Miss Nagaland. Her answer was in response to a question asked by home commissioner, Jani Alam, one of the judges.
In the sub-titles category, Mughali Kinimi was adjudged Miss Congeniality and Mary Kay Miss Beautiful Skin; K. Limei Phom as Miss Perfect 10; Alemla Chang as Miss Photogenic and Virieno Zakiesato as Eastern Mirror Viewer’s Choice.
Short listed in the five finalists were also Allin Awomi and Naomi Ringa. The five finalists were called in from a round of 10 chosen contestants after facing a round of interview. The final five contestants were then interviewed by judges in the panel. The judges included Miss Nagaland 1997 and Miss North East 1998, Vesakholu who was the chief judge; commissioner and secretary, art and culture, tourism, I. Himato Zhimomi; home commissioner Jani Alam; president of Naga Mothers Association, Abei-ΓΌ Meru; and director of Mother’s Hope, Moamenla Tsudir.
A fashion show showcasing the designs of Akumnaro was displayed; while songs were presented by Seyiekhrietuo, Sharon, Noken, Andrew Phom, and a dance item performed by Nicolas. Miss Nagaland is an annual event organized by the Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland.
