IMPHAL, Sept 10: A lady official of the Manipur government was reportedly kidnapped by suspected militants, police said Friday. Chief Librarian of the Manipur State Central Library, Imphal, Tampakleima Devi was kidnapped along with her driver by some suspected militants from Nambol area of Bishnupur district on her way back after attending a function last Tuesday.
Police suspect monetary demand behind the kidnapping of the officer.
Meanwhile, police said they are yet to trace the whereabouts a head mason engaged in the construction work at the FCI, Ningthoupham kidnapped by suspected militants from his work place.
