Open Letter to C.M. Ibobi

One MPS officer posted as SDPO in Churachandpur was transferred a few days back from Churachandpur to Tamenglong. I do appreciate the swift action of transfering a sincere police officer but not at all about the manner he was transferred. Being a witty, competent and responsible police officer, he has been performing his duty satisfactorily from the day he was posted in churachandpur.

The whole transfer drama began with an altercation involving security personnel of the police officer
and some unscrupulous men of nearby locality. So, the incident was nothing more than a commotion involv-
ing security personnel on the one hand and street chanters on the other. A reliable sources said 144 Cr
Pc was enforced by the District Magistrate when the incident took place.

Therefore, immediate action of transfering a police officer was uncalled for. The home Dept. should
review the transfer order and make new posting arrangement in such a way how administration was
functioning in a welfare and democratic state.
