Science topper wants to try for an IAS career

IMPHAL, May 20: Pushpanjali Takhellambam, who topped in the Science stream of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination 2010, conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur has an ambition to become an IAS officer and to contribute her services for the welfare of the state.
Pushpanjali is the second daughter of Bhupenkumar Takhellambam of Wangkhei Angom Leikai and Takhellambam Ongbi Sunita. She received guidance in establishing her academic career from her mother Sunita who is a lecturer at the Mayai Lambi College. On being asked about her success in topping the science stream of the HSSLC examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur for the year 2009-2010, she further mentioned that the primary reason for her success was her parents and the teachers of Human Resource Academy (HRD), Ghari from which she passed the examination.

She further mentioned she was surprised by the result although she had never lost confidence and wanted to become a topper with encouragement from both her parents and teachers of HRD Academy.

She said her ambition to become a topper came to her mind after seeing the success of her elder brother Satyam Singh who stood first in last year’s HSSLC examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur.

She said she had put in all effort to become a topper and had given full concentration to learning rather than other curricular activities.

She further mentioned that it was difficult to avoid all the mental distractions during the prolonged disruption in the academic atmosphere caused by a public agitation last year which lasted for more than five months. She felt sorry at the whole affair but being a bookworm she kept her concentration on her studies by consulting her school teachers and private tutors to make up for the lost time.

Mentioning her secret of success, she said she followed her normal duties as a student. She said she would continue to follow the guidance of her parents and teachers in her further studies as she had come to realise that her success lay in the hands of her parents’ and teachers’ guidance.

She said she would like to face many competitive examinations to improve her future career and also to deliver her services to the welfare of the people by sitting for the MBBS examination in the state and other competitive examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission and Manipur Public Service Commission.
