NSF bans Manipur vehicles till state govt apologised for stopping its vehicle at Mao Gate

Dimapur, May 4: The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) has banned any vehicle coming from Manipur to Nagaland since this evening.
The move of the NSF has been prompted by the act of Manipur security forces personnel blocking NSF leaders crossing Mao-Gate in the Nagaland - Manipur border on Monday.
Sources said that the NSF will impose the ban of vehicles from Manipur entering Nagaland so long as the government of Manipur tender apology to the Naga students' body for the Monday episode.

The NSF leaders on Monday tried to cross the Mao Gate but the security forces personnel manning the border refused permission to the students' leaders.

The security forces mostly the Manipur police commandos and IRB personnel have been manning the border area along the National Highway 39 in order to prevent NSCN-IM general secretary Thuigaleng Muivah from visiting his native village Somdal in Ukhrul, Manipur.

The Manipur Cabinet has re-affirmed on Tuesday regarding its earlier decision to prevent Th Muivah entering Manipur.
CrPC 144 was clamped in Ukhrul until this morning to prevent any untoward incident.

However, in Senapati district the CrPC 144 is still in force.
