NSCN rebuts Assam media report

Dimapur, May 13 (MExN): The Government of the People Republic of Nagalim has clarified on what it termed as the “unfounded allegations directed against NSCN” by the Silchar- based reporter of ‘The Sentinel’ quoting sources which reported that NSCN trained about 30 Muslim youths from the Barak Valley at its Hebron Camp, and the purpose is for carrying out extortion drive. “The intelligence agencies are always desperate to target NSCN and take pleasure in feeding the media with all sorts of wild information but far from factual situation”, stated a press note from MIP.
Pointing out that the NSCN believed in the peaceful co-existence of all communities in the region, and therefore, “to foment tension between the Hindus and the Muslim
by NSCN is a mockery of intelligence agencies out to create sensation out of nothing just to please its bosses in the Home Ministry in New Delhi”, it stated. The MIP note stated that the organization was least perturbed over such allegations that is done to tarnish its good name. “NSCN is in ceasefire with the government of India for the past 13 years, and committed to peaceful settlement of Indo-Naga Political problems. What has been agreed upon at the time of signing the ceasefire is strictly adhered to in principle and in practice”, the MIP stated.
