IMPHAL, May 14: The Kuki Students’ Organisation has expressed discontentment over the general impression that the ATSUM is partnering the the ANSAM in the current blockade of the state.
However, the ATSUM said it is not in favor of holding of the ADC elections now, a release of the KSO said.
The KSO further said that the Guwahati High Court’s (Imphal Bench) directives to apprehend the ATSUM leaders comes as a shocker to it.
The PIL filed by RK Joysana and Advocate Hemchandra without first going through the ground realities was a hasty step, it said while stating that the court’s summon to the ATSUM president is in total disregard of the voice ofthe tribal people.
The KSO GHQ clarified that the ATSUM and its leaders, including its president Thomas Taishya, are not involved in the present economic blockade, and if this clarification remained unheeded, the KSO in solidarity with the ATSUM would be compelled to initiate drastic measures, which would not be in the interest of the state of Manipur.
The KSO also sent its condolences over the killing of two youths in the Mao violence on May 6.
