No nominations filed in ADC polls yet though forms collected in CCpur

IMPHAL, Apr 28: Even though the state election commission had made formal notification for election to ADC for Sadar Hills, Chandel and Churachandpur district on April 26, so far there has been no report of filing nomination papers though many aspiring candidates have collected nomination papers in Churachandpur district.
The state election commission had notified on April 26 that the first phase of ADC election in the hills district of Manipur will be held on May 26.

As per notification, the last date for filing of nominations is May 3.

The first phase of the ADC polls is to take place in the Sadar Hills, Chandel and Churachandpur district.

According to an official source, some candidature in Churachandpur district have collected nomination papers.

So far 18 candidature have collected nomination papers in Saikot assembly constituency and five each in Shinghat, Henglep and Thanlon.

In Tipaimukh assembly constituency altogether six nomination papers have been collected by aspiring candidates though there has been no report of anybody filing nomination papers.

The official source also disclosed three returning officers have begun performing election related activities in Sadar Hills while five such officers each in Chandel and Churachandpur have begun their official exercises for the ADC polls.
