Imphal, February 20: The United Tribal Liberation Army (UTLA) today while stating that they took seriously on the attitudes and activities of Kuki National Front (Military Council)-KNF(MC) asked the later to shun the feeling og hatred/killing among the tribal brother in the name of SoO flexing muscles.
“….you try to eliminate your own brothers, what to do the KNF(MC) gain out of that? It is the wish and aspiration of the tribal people? Whom do you fight to achieve the aspiration of self determination, it is the Indian government or your own brother,” a statement signed by its information and publicity secretary, Anaconda asked the KNF (MC).
In the last week of August 2009, at some where in Manipur the official of the KNF(MC) and representative sent by UTLA had a friendly meeting to share view with each other but to surprised the “cunning foxes” officials KNF(MC) sent their cadres secretly to make an ambush that day at between Longphailum and Tuiphai village, the stateemtn put down.
It further stated that on December 3, 2009 also KNF(MC) came to loot the weapon belonging to UTLA which resulted in a fierce fighting between the two groups. In that three KNF (MC) cadres were killed at Lenglong Lamkhai. The UTLA was not happy with the incident.
Again on January 5 last too, two family of UTLA cadres, residences of Bethel, Churachandpur district were forcibly turned out from their village/residence. On January 13, a combined team of Indian Army and KNO/KNA cadres came to Tuiphai village and took away the costly warm clothes, money, dao, ornaments etc. rom the innocent villagers, the UTLA condemned the activities of the combined team, the statement added.
