Churachandpur Febuary 20: The two days seminar on the Theme Kuki Society: Past,Present&Future organized by Kuki Research Forum in collaboration with KSO/GHQ concluded to day at Sielmat Christian College with a red letter day.
The first session of the seminar was moderated by Dr. Leban Serto andResource persons comprising of Paolenthang Khongsai Research scholar NEHU presenting his paper on the topic” Dynamic of Coliation Politics for Social change,Mr.George T.HAokip Research scholar MU/CAU presenting his paper on the topic”Changes in Kuki Traditional Land System:Review, Mr.Robert Thongkholal Haokip, Research Scholar NEHU presenting his paper on the topic”Looking East via Moreh:Prospects and Challenges for the Kukis, Dr.Priyadarshini M.Gangte presenting her paper on the topic” Evolution of Chieftainship through Customary Laws-its Modern Conceptualities”
In the second session of the seminar moderated by Dr.H.Kamkhenthang,the Resource persons comprising of Prof.Laldena Hmar presenting his paper on the topic”Nationality Formation:The Case of Kukis, Dr.Seilen Haokip ,Liverpool University UK presenting his paper on the topic”Rhetorics of the Kuki Nationalism and lastly Dr.Leban Serto,Co-ordinator, Peace Studies Martin Luther University ,Shillong presenting his paper on the topic”Looking to the Future:Creating Vibrant Community,peace and sustainable Development”
In the valedictory programme after the seminar,special No from Ms.Momoi Touthang ,secetary report speech from KSo-GHQ/KSO-CCPur/HAS and seminar Co-ordinator followed by vote of thanks from Th.Hethang George HAokip and closing prayer by Pu Thachuiolou Pastor,UPC,NEI then the two days seminar concluded one step for Kuki society in the days to come.
