Trinamool MP deplores SF's act

Imphal, January 29: The violation of human rights especially that of women by security forces in the name of counter insurgency in Manipur should never be tolerated, said Lok Sabha MP, Dr Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar during her whirlwind visit to Imphal today.

Speaking at the reception function held in her honour at ISCKON Complex here, Dr Kakoli Ghosh, who is also the president of All India Trinamool Mahila Congress, felt that a meaningful dialogue on the conflict situation of the state would bring normalcy back. She conveyed that the Trinamul Congress leader, Mamata Banerjee will shortly highlight the problems of Manipur to the Centre.

She said, the rights violation against the civil populace of Manipur especially against women would never be tolerated. Therefore, it is pertinent to empower the women of Manipur and provide jobs to the youths. This would greatly help in ushering normalcy in the state.
