Kanpur: Panic gripped the passengers aboard New Delhi-Guwahati Rajdhani Express on Thursday evening after smoke filled some compartments following a technical snag in its wheels, near Phafoond railway station, about 100kms from here. According to railway officials, a stray animal came on the tracks near Phafoond station, forcing the 2424 Rajdhani Express engine driver to apply emergency brake. Subsequently, the wheels of the train got jammed due to break binding, and smoke and sparks started coming out. (PTI)
