Arrested KYKL chief brought to Manipur

Imphal, March 31 (NNN): Kangleipak Yawol Kanna Lup-Military Defence Force (KYKL-MDF) chief, Meishnam Gopeshwor was brought back to Imphal, from Meghalaya Wednesday afternoon by the combined team of 16th Maratha Light Infantry (MLI) and Thoubal police commandos. Meishnam Gopeshwor @ Athouba (40), chief of KYKL-MDF was reportedly arrested from Shillong, Meghalaya on March 26.
Acting on a tip off from the sources, the Thoubal police commandos reached Shillong and conducted a search operation along with the 16th MLI and Meghalaya police. The chief of KYKL-MDF was nabbed from a rented accommodation in Nogren, Shillong. No arms and ammunitions were recovered from Meishnam Gopeshwor, according to police. Two persons including a woman KYKL-MDF sympathizer were arrested following the interrogation of Meishnam Gopeshwor.
The other two arrested persons have been identified as M. Khagemba (30) s/o M. Dhojo of Phubala, Makha Leikai and the other is Joyrose Machangnou (42) w/o Likeson Machangnou of Senapati district. M. khagemba is the younger brother of Meishnam Gopeshwor. He was arrested Saturday midnight from his house.
Two AK-47 rifles along with four magazines and 200 live rounds were recovered from M. Khagemba, according to police.
