"There are five suspects, of whom two have been arrested. We have learnt that another person has surrendered in a Haryana court. We are looking for the other two accused," Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) HGS Dhaliwal said here.
The police arrested Shamshad and Usman, both in their early 20s, from Haryana's Mewat district Wednesday night. One of their accomplices, who was jailed two days ago in a cow slaughtering case, surrendered in a Ballabgarh court Thursday.
According to police, both the arrested have criminal background and have been involved in gangrape cases earlier.
On Nov 23, the BPO staffer from s Northeastern State was abducted by five men and gangraped in a moving goods carrier. She was abducted soon after being dropped along with another girl, 100 metres from her home, by her office vehicle in Dhaula Kuan area in south Delhi late at night. The men then drove all the way to Mongolpuri in north Delhi and dumped her there after raping her.
Police said investigations were on in full swing with 15 special teams investigating the case. Two sketches of the suspects have been released, several suspects are being questioned and the statements of three witnesses being recorded.
According to police, CCTV footage has been looked into minutely and the mobile phone records of suspects residing in Mongolpuri area checked.
