Lamka, Sep 21: The Kuki National Front (S) have deposited arms at their Gilgal camp on Sunday in the presence of GB Sharma SP/Ccpur, Officer from 27th Sector Assam Rifles, DSP CCpur, SDPO CCpur and OC Henglep said the outfit’s release.
The arms were deposit as per the directives of the government and 120 cadres of the outfit have stationed themselves inside it said the release that express great expectation from the political dialogue that will follow. It however expresses its reservation over irregularity in granting the cadres’ stipend.
If the Govt neglected the stipends then we will be compelled to ignore the ground rule of SoO and we should not be blame for it, said the statement. Five months stipends, alleged the outfit, was due while sanctions for construction was lacking and leaders package disappearing.
JAC of Khuga Dam petitions Chief Minister
Lamka, Sep 21: The JAC on Khuga dam have petitioned the Chief Minister to stalled the proposed inauguration of Khuga Multi- purpose Projects until and unless all the purposes were fully completed and accuse the construction as sub-standard that sends panic and dismay to the people. ‘No irrigation is made to provide and function to feed the nearby paddy fields, and in case of water supply for drinking purpose, it is a far off dream till this fall. As regards to the electric power generation, it is still very far off from functioning,’ wrote the JAC on the grounds for their petition to Chief Minister. They also alleged the construction as sub-standard and in a deteriorating condition which makes the people of Churachandpur panicky, dismay and dejected.
The JAC in a separate statement clarified that the committee was formed in the interest of the public with all tribal apex bodies, student bodies, civil society and NGOs to spearhead and to oppose the plan to hastily inaugurate the project even as it lacks behind in delivering its purposes. The KSO, HSA, ZS, KIC, ZC, HI, MPC and KDARARA have formally conveyed their support to the JAC and already depute a represen-tative each to assist them.
