Dr. H.H. Mate
The implementation of new education systems brought a new evolution in our country. The process of formulating education systems in our state is also revised in accordance with the new education policy of the country. With the astounding development of education
systems, namely Scientific, Technical and Vocational Education in this modern age, we need to adopt vocational education in our State. Because in scientific education, we, somehow, get uniformly the facilities, benefits and advantages proportionately in all States and Union Territories, But due to the poor socio-economic conditions of the lower class people, most of the facilities, benefits and advantages are piled up in the bosom of the upper class or affluent people and the high middle class people. The tragic is that the lower class people or weaker section of the society are emasculated and mauled. Though the Central Government takes up many research project works and new plans in different fields for the national security and development, the State Government is not taking up even half of such works and plans properly for the present and future development of the lower class people in the State.
When we look at the line of technical education in our Country, we are not still getting uniformly the requisites/
needs of the people in all States and Union Territories. Because lower, middle and upper class people are not
getting or given balanced shares and benefits for instance, we have many States and Union Territories in
our Country where post-graduate Degree and Degree Engineering Colleges are not established, properly. The
imbalanced shares of the States and Union Territories sometimes result in creating of the demand of Autonomous States in the Country. Though technical education is not shared equally to all the States and Union territories, it creates and determines the strength and power, and resource mobilisation capacity of a State, and at the same time it can give and provide the second prestige and important role of employment facilities. That is why, only few States of the country take full advantages and facilities of technical education and lead many other backward States hitherto. In some States technical education is somehow organised,
improved and developed but our State Manipur is not as we do expect as other States do effectively.
At present, if we see the side of vocational education, we know clearly that vocational education is totally failed and neglected, because there are not systematically well organised courses of vocational education in all the States and Union Territories of the Country. Hitherto, vocational training is not given properly even to the upper and middle class people besides the lower and grass - root class peoples in our country too. In Manipur, we have expurgated the facile coments which are exorbitantly hideouts to the brain of the student. But it is maxim not to stagnate the revised education systems of our State, including vocational education.
It is hoped that the systems of education in our States will be explored further so as to dispose the naive revision made by the education departments advertently. The entire educated are involved to suggest views and opinions in the manipulation and escalation of our education systems so as to be effective hereafter.
Because vocational education provides the first and the maximum number of employment facilities, while
the technical and scientific education provides the second and the third largest number of employment opportunities. Vocational education, though it is neglected; at present, under formal education system, gives
much prospect to solve unemployment problems in the country. It is the most important and suitable education
for the weaker sections and lower class people. We are, therefore, bound to adopt or implement vocational
education; it should not be neglected as our education system is considered important. We have to tackle the
policies and execute them properly, if not our education system will look like a facade. It must be adopted
systematically so as to distract revolutionary movement of separation which perhaps accrued due to disparity
of economic factors and conditions, wider gap of rich and poor, imbalanced growth of social structure and sta
tus, absence of truth and justice, lack of sacrifice and dedication and lack of discipline and thought.
It is earnestly expected that the State Govt. too, will readily arrange and provide employment facilities to
the output of manpower products from the vocational, technical and scientific education for the stringent
welfare of the nation. Knowledge itself becomes wisdom when it is put into practical use.
