Manipur Committee for Social Concerns Appeals

On behalf of our organization I, wish to use your column for a social cause. We, all the members
of Manipur Committee for Social Concerns Imphal appeal to all concerned:-
a) In view of the present situation created between leaders of NSCN (IM), Governments of Manipur -
Nagaland and Govt. of India; people of Manipur irrespective of ethnicity affiliation must not create any panic, confusion and cause rumored atmosphere of distrust and disharmony. All must continue living in complete amity and harmony as hither-to-fore, Manipur being a multi religious, multi cultural society and inter, intra dependent societies ABSOLUTE!!!

b) We appeal to government of Manipur to display full faith in Govt. of Nagaland and people of Nagaland & re-commence ferrying supplies through NH-39 up to Mao & from there through our escorts on Army Convey Days till situation settles.

c) No individual, organization and Govt. spokesperson should issue any statement inflammatory & detrimental to communal harmony and peace. It is duty of all and sundry to extend full support to state law and order machinery to accomplish their task to protect its citizens against any disorder/harm.

d) We are happy to observe that all Manipuri’s staying in Kohima and Dimapur are living happily and undisturbed and appreciate Government & people of Nagaland in ensuring this. Our Hills & Valley must display wisdom & not allow anyone, individual or group to destroy the fabric of trust & peace. Burning of Govt. buildings & looting, hijacking of vehicles and debussing people of one community around Awangkhul and make them walk on foot must be stopped by consciential urge as there is element of divinity in every individual.

Lastly we fully appreciate & support the resolve taken by all communities groups meet held under aegis of UCM and other leaders on 10 May, 10 that nobody will disturb the peaceful living and exemplary co-existence. And we hope and pray Govt. of India will soon resolve the current imbroglio.
