Its all about achieving goals: Science 2nd topper

IMPHAL, May 20: Students should have strong determination to achieve the goals in their lives, said Kangjam Devishri, the second position holder of science stream in the Higher Secondary Examination 2010, conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM).

The second position holder from Herbert School, Devishri secured a total of 460 marks out of 500 with letter marks in English, Alternative English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. She also scored the highest marks in English.

She is the eldest daughter of Kangjam Radhakumar, deputy commissioner of Imphal West and Kangjam Geetabali of Uripok Takhellambam Leikai, Imphal West.

Interacting with IFP today, Devishri said that she intends to pursue MBBS with the motive of becoming a good doctor to serve the downtrodden people of the state.

She further maintained that the present situation of the state affects the academic atmosphere and hinders the competitive spirit amongst the students of the state. She also appealed to all concerned to avoid class boycott, bandhs and strikes as far as possible in the interests of the students.

Despite of all hurdles, Devishri outshone others in the higher secondary examination by dint of her labour and sincerity. She is punctual and studies her lessons regularly.
Apart from studies, Devishri enjoys gardening and loves to read novels and other books of great importance.

It may be mentioned that Devishri secured the 16th position in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur in 2008 from Little Flower School.
