Antony says infiltration up but talks won’t be affected

Even though there has been an increase in infiltration by militants from across the border in Jammu and Kashmir in recent months, the ‘considered decision’ to start bilateral dialogue with Pakistan will not be affected, Defence Minister A K Antony has said.

Justifying India’s stance to restart the dialogue even though there has been ‘no attempt on the part of Pakistan to dismantle terrorist outfits’, Antony said that ‘some actions’ have been taken by Islamabad as per New Delhi’s wish.

“Even though we are not fully satisfied with the actions taken by Pakistan against terrorist outfits, we find that they have taken some actions as per our wish. It is a positive development so we thought it is better to start dialogue,” the minister said, interacting with mediapersons after delivering the keynote address at the Asian Security Conference at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) here.
