IMPHAL, June 25: The KNO has expressed its sadness at the sudden demise of one of its senior most Cabinet member and Secretary Organizer / Public Relations Pu Sanchong Nehmang Haokip @ SNG Haokip on 23rd June, 2009 after prolonged illness, a release said.
Pu SNG Haokip was born in 1939 at Changlei village of Ukhrul District. Being a man gifted with an organizational as well as oratory skills, he had served in his best capacity as a Chief Organizer of the KNO since its inception.
Mention may be made of the significant and laudable initiatives taken under his leadership in restoring unity and brotherhood amongst the various kindred Kuki tribes in the states of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland.
He had also painstakingly authored a book entitled as “Kukite Chondan Khandan” so as to save the present Westernized young generation Kukis and promote the indigenous Custom and Culture.
The unfulfilled dreams and the unfinished tasks left behind by our visionary leaders like Pu SNG Haokip reminds the KNO and the Kukis in general the urgency to fight in unison until the goal is achieved, the release said while extending homage to the departed soul and praying that the Almighty bestow peace upon the bereaved family.
