The minister was inaugurating a UGC-sponsored national workshop on ‘Research Methodology and Preparation of Proposal’ organised by Government Hrangbana College, Aizawl, in collaboration with Department of Education, Mizoram University.
''That is the government’s stand on the controversy over teacher recruitment in the Mizoram University,'' Lalsawta added.
''The state government is searching for the most qualified persons for the post of Mizoram University teachers, irrespective of caste or where do they come from.''
Underlining the vast difference between literacy and education, the minister also stated, '' We need to think if Mizoram, despite being the second most literate state in the country, has highly educated persons.''
Mizoram badly needs adequate number of research scholars for overall improvement of the state, he added. (UNI)
