FIFA World Cup 2010 Opening Ceremony, Start Time

The first session of the World Cup 2010 opening ceremony this year will start at 8:00 PM ( +2 GMT) on Thursday, June 10 evening. Shakira will be performing live together with a local group called Freshlyground at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg. Shakira will perform ‘Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)’ - the official song of 2010

The second session of the opening ceremony of the World Cup will take place in the Soccer City stadium, Johannesburg, 30 minutes ahead of the first match on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 4:00 PM (South Africa Time), 2:00 PM GMT.

Tune in to your TV by 1:30 PM GMT on Friday to catch the second session of the opening ceremony.

Opening ceremonies:

1st – Thursday, June 10 – 8:00 PM (South AFrica time) – 6:00 PM GMT – 11:30 PM (India time – IST)

2nd – Friday, June 11- 3:30 PM (South Africa time) – 1:30 PM GMT – 7:00 PM (India time – IST)
