With reference to Lenthang Kimpi of Kuki Inpi, the Kuki Tribal Union is not surprise as many Kukis still choose to be guided by certain forces that refused to compromise with reality as the interest of the Kukis are concern.. There are many who turned stubborn and arrogant, and not willing to learn from the mistakes of history. The history of the world is replete with mistakes, and Kukis are no exception. From history we learn the good, the bad and the ugly.
Again from history we learn who play the brain-masters and in the process who became the victims. This is all about the relation of Kukis with the Nagas, but who is to be blamed when so many Nagas and Kukis killed among themselves. This is the ugly side of the history. Many kukis, as well as many Nagas realize the folly of enmity that brought only killing and misery. This is the good side of history.
The Kuki Tribal Union under NSCN have the full faith that sensible Kukis will not be carried away by such misleading statement in the name of Kuki Inpi. Let there be transparency and let there be logical presentation of any argument. The KTU is not after any material gain to work under the banner of NSCN but to safeguard the interests of the Kuikis. The world has changed and there is no point to live in the ‘make-believe world’.
The Kukis need to make a good choice and come forward to work for the greater interest of the Kukis. The past has to be forgotten when Kukis leadership of the past allowed themselves to be used as tools by government of India against the Nagas. That was ugliest part of the Kukis and Nagas are never to be blamed.
Where is the question of excommunication and who is going to be responsible when certain Kukis are trying to create another mistake in the Naga-Kuki relationship. Let there be peace and cordial relation among the Nagas and Kukis. If Lenthang is a bonafide member of Kuki Inpi let him learn to point his finger in the proper direction and not necessary against NSCN.
