KSO demands sacking of Education Minister

Imphal, November 04(HNS): Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO), Sadar Hills, Manipur has asked the government of Manipur to come clean by sacking the Education Minister on the controversy surrounding the declaration of the DPC results of the Primary Teachers/HMT/HGT 2006.

Even after the successful completion of the DPC, the results have not been declared. “Instead, the authority is embroiled in a controversy by suppressing the DPC results,” the KSO-Sardar Hills said. It termed the education scenario in the state as going from “bad to worse in recent times, especially under the present state government.”

“Despite the constitutional directives under Article 45 of the directive principles of state policy to provide free and compulsory education for all children until they complete the age of 14, the state government has not take any concrete action to promote education”, it disparaged.

The increasing eruption of protests by the teaching community in recent times and the recent controversy surrounding the declaration of DPC results of Primary Teachers/HMT/HGT 2006 is “proof of how the state of education is under the present government”, said the Kuki students' body.

Given the alleged “indifference” of the incumbent State government, the KSO-Sardar Hills “appealed to all concerned people for support in bringing an early solution of the problem arising out of the suppression of the DPC result of Primary Teachers/HMT/HGT 2006.”

It has also resolved to support the rally called by AMSGO (All Manipur Students’ Guardian Organization) on November 10, and urged the “Ibobi government to settle the issue at the earliest time possible.”
