Lamka May 3 : Atleast 102 candidates drawn from the INC , RJD , TC, CPI ,NCP , BJP with majority from Independent party will fray in the run upto the MDC election schedule to be held on the 26th May next .With date of nomination filing ending by today most of the intending candidates were busy filing nomination till the clock struck just 3 PM which has been closing time .Scrutiny will be done by tommorrow from 11 am till it were over at the BRGF Conference Hall of the DC office said sources from the district administration .

An estimated numbers of 53 candidates have filed their nomination as independent candidates with Parbung,Vangai Range , Muallum and Thanlon leading in terms of having the largest number of Independent candidates with 4 each while New lamka East Sangang and Haopi seconded by having 3 each . There are only one Independent candidates from Tuibuong .

There 7 NCP candidates from the MDC constituencies of 23- Muallum in the persons of Chinsuanlam , 9- Ngajam Thonzakap , 3- Henglep Thenkhohau , 4- Chingkhozou P Lalboy Gnagte , 2- Leimatak Poukham , 14- Tuibuang Boilet Haokip 20- Sangang M RemkhupSong The RJD Candidtaes are from 1- Khousabung in the persons of Soiliankham , 13 - Kholmun Lamkhohen , 14 - Tuibuong T Letpu Haokip ,19 Saikot Lalawisang , 20 Sagang Gasmani , 21 Sangngaikot Thangzamang Haokip , 2 - Leimatak Hammang 4 - Chongkhojou Tongkholam The INC fielded candidates from all the constituencies while still other minor parties are the Trinamool Congress which has et up a condidates at 3 - Henglep , 1- Khousabung , 14 Tuibuang, 20 Sagang , while CPI fielded a candidates from 19 - Saikot , 20 Sagang , 5- Thanlon , 9- Ngajam 14- 4 - Chongkhojou while the BJP fielded a candidate at 21 - Sangaikot The INC candidates from 16 - New Lamka (West ) Mangchinkhup has no opponent and if he goes without through without any during the scrutiny he has no contenders.The youngest contestants are from the Lenkhomang Mangte , 80 , years from from 1- Khosabung.
