Lamka, Feb 17: Continuing her whirlwind tour to selected pockets of the interiors, Churachandpur DC Jacintha Lazarus said there were more developmental works visible in the interiors than in and around the township.
Commenting on a query after her recent trip to Vangai TD block, Lazarus said though it appears to her that more guidance were needed, there were many visible works in these areas than in the district headquarters. ‘Suspension Bridge means Suspension Bridge, community hall means community hall, and you can see all these structures coming up these area,’ she said.
She also commented the people for the works they realised under NREGS. In almost all the villages, rubber plantation was adopted with technical assistance from Assam, and I see the need to train them in the art, she said and added that Malaria was a case of major concern for the people. Stationing of a medical team during the monsoon in the interiors and cleaning up of streams running across the township were some of the vision she shares as well.
